fairy and the woodcutter
CONCEPT + DESIGN
One day, an old, unmarried woodcutter helps a deer in danger from a hunter. The deer leads the woodcutter into the pond where the fairies come down to take a bath once a month. The deer tells woodcutter to hide the wings of one of the fairies, so that she cannot go back to heaven and to get married with her.
Desperate in need of wife, the woodcutter hides one of the wings and eventually gets married with her. They have two children and everything seems happy until the fairy finds her hidden wings. The fairy put her wings on and hurriedly returns to the sky with her children. The woodcutter was left alone and lived in grief. The woodcutter didn’t know who to blame because he knew it was his fault at first to steal fairy’s wings at the pond.
